ABOUT THE DEER RUN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

The Deer Run Open is a Two Player Amateur Team Golf Competition for accomplished male golfers 18 and over, who want to compete for the coveted title of Deer Run Club Champions and represent the Country Club at Deer Run in the State Club Open Golf Championship. The Tournament is a "Double Play" format with a combined Better Ball and Alternate Shot competition. Club Membership, City, County or State residency is not a requirement for participation. However, Winners of the Deer Run Open agree to enter and represent the Club in the State Final.

In order to add some fun and excitement to the event, the Tournament will also iinclude Optional On-Course Competitions of Closest-to-the-Pin, Putting Contest and Players Pool Skins Game.

• Limited to 65 Teams.
• A minimum of 15 teams are required to stage the event.
• Single Round - 18 Hole single day event
• Holes 1- 9 Better Ball.
• Holes 10 - 18 Alternate Shot.
• Winners are determined by Lowest Medal Team Score.

COMPETING FORMAT

Format: Two Player Better Ball
• Two Player Teams
• Each player hits his own ball on each hole to complete the hole
• Each Player is required to record their individual score
• Players record the best individual score as the team score for the hole
• The lowest or best score of the two player team counts as the team score tees.
• All other USGA and Local Rules apply

FORMAT: Two Player Alternate Shot (also referred to as Twosomes)
• Two Player Teams
• Each team will select one player to tee off on odd-numbered holes, while the other tees off on even-numbered holes.
• The players play only one ball, alternating shots until the hole is completed.
• Record the team's score.
• All other USGA and local rules apply

PARTICIPANTS

The Tournament is open to all male amateur golfers 18 years of age and older. Golfers with a 14 or better handicap are encourage to participate. All Team Entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. A minimum of 15 teams and a maximum of 65 Teams will be selected to participate.
